I don’t recall writing a trend or prediction article about marketing trends in the past, but I feel compelled to write about 2023 marketing trends based on what I am watching happen in the US market and the marketing industry.
The next few months may see some significant upheaval and changes for marketers.
Of course, I could be completely wrong, too!
However, the data and sentiment point to the following 2023 marketing trends.
Meteoric Rise of AI Content Tools
AI content creation tools have been around for a while. However, the tools are now becoming mainstream, and content creators are turning to them more and more to help generate written and visual content.
When used effectively, AI tools like jasper.ai and Chat GPT4 by Open AI can greatly speed up the content creation process. This gives content creators more time to add valuable insights and make the content relevant to their target audience.
AI content tools are likely one of the biggest 2023 marketing trends to follow. I believe AI content are going to dramatically impact the quality and speed at which marketing content is created.
Marketing who adopt these AI content tools will be way ahead of the curve. Read our recent post on this subject: AI Content Creation: 3 Reasons to Make the Shift.
Video Marketing Will Become a Bigger Priority
Video is already a big priority for many brands. As written and visual content becomes easier to create with AI tools, I believe people will crave more authenticity and connection through video.
Social media is already prioritizing video content, and that trend will only quicken in the future.
Marketers should be investing in their ability to create videos that connect with their current and prospective customers.
Repurposing Video Becomes The Norm
Video content can easily be turned into a podcast, blog, social media content, email content, web page content, and more.
More content creators will focus on producing less, but higher quality content and then repurposing it across multiple platforms.
Email Marketing Remains Strong
Email marketing has proven to be a powerful tool when leveraged correctly, and I don’t believe that will change in the foreseeable future.
Increased Alignment Between Sales and Marketing Teams
Sales and marketing must be aligned for an organization to grow. Business leaders know this and will invest in leaders and technology to get these teams working together to drive customer growth.
People Will Value Authenticity More
There is no shortage of content. Some may argue that there is too much content. Getting information is easier than ever today. Finding people who can authentically make sense of things and make them applicable will be increasingly in demand.
In a world where so many things are contrived, people crave authenticity. This may be one of the most impact 2023 marketing trends.
What Should Marketers Do with these 2023 Marketing Trends?
Solve problems for people and earn a profit by serving them well.
Strategies, tactics, and tools will change, but human nature remains the same.
When we have a problem that needs to be solved, we look for someone to solve it. If it is a big enough problem that we can’t solve on our own, we will pay someone to take care of it for us.
Be the person that gets paid to solve problems by executing these 2023 marketing trends and be ready to make changes as new platforms and technologies arise.
